100 years Phoenix Contact

mac. brand spaces GmbH, the specialists for live communication, realized the permanent and anniversary exhibition for the 100th anniversary of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG. This was announced by mac CEO Stefan Trieb.
mac realized both a permanent exhibition and the anniversary exhibition on the campus in Blomberg, which was shown during the two-day ceremony. The permanent exhibition covers 350 square meters and offers a chronological journey along technological milestones as well as personal stories of some of the key players from the company’s impressive 100-year history. “The particular challenge was to bring the wealth of topics into a meaningful structure and design and to use only non-combustible materials for the realization,” says Trieb. All exhibition elements were manufactured in such a way that they can be reused on the campus at a later date. “Phoenix Contact attaches just as much importance to sustainability as we do,” says Trieb happily.
“We developed the customer journey with the client and H&C Stader GmbH, who were responsible for realizing the historical content,” says Trieb. A flexible exhibition architecture was developed for the tour through the past, present and future. In addition, special showcases were designed for historical exhibits and individual stagings, such as the conversion of a contemporary television set for the presentation of historical advertising films.
For the anniversary exhibition, mac created a customer journey through 100 years of technology development at Phoenix Contact. The 800 square meter exhibition was illustrated with historical manufacturing and machine tools from the company’s production history. “We adapted the exhibition architecture of the annual exhibition – but in larger formats,” explains Trieb. Here, the arc was spanned from the beginnings to current and future-oriented developments. Trieb: “The presentation of graphic and media content on large-format and interactive frames as well as the appropriate light staging rounded off this extraordinary parkour.”
